Happy December!

Reading: We are exploring the expository nonfiction text set. Students have completed some reading response journals. Guided reading groups are still happening and going strong!

Our December book report will be on a FICTION book at students' personal reading levels. It will be due after winter break on Wednesday, January 11th.

Language/Writing: Students have published their narratives! We had a "publishing party" where we rotated to read a couple of classmates' stories and leave compliments. Now, we are launching our nonfiction writing unit. Students will learn that nonfiction authors write nonfiction texts to inform, explain, and even entertain their readers!

Math:  We have finished our section on telling time in Module 2 and now we are moving on to measuring weight with grams and kilograms, and measuring liquid volume with milliliters and liters. Students are really enjoying these lessons!

Science/STEM:  Students have been working hard on writing their scripts on forecasting their severe weather. Next week, Ms. Molnar will come in and teach students about WeVideo which is what they will use to share their weather forecast about their severe weather topic. Students will experience what it feels like to be a real meteorologist!
