October Announcements

Imaginary Town Maps

In October, the third graders have been learning about maps. Students have learned how to read them, how to use them, and now how to create them! Each third grader created their own map of an imaginary town. Each map needed to include a compass rose, symbols, streets, and a map key. Check out the imaginary towns!

Solving two-step word problems

3rd graders worked in pairs or small groups on solving two-step word problems. They had to carefully read the problem, draw a model, and then write a number sentence and a word sentence. This process is called RDW.
