February update

• In math class, we are ending our unit with area and we will be starting our next unit on fractions! We will be partitioning wholes into equal parts, identifying unit fractions, representing parts of a whole as a fraction using number bonds, comparing fractions, and more! 
• In Reading, we are finishing up our text set on Realistic Fiction books. Our next text set will focusing on diverse stories and students will practice on summarizing. Just a friendly reminder that February book reports are due on March 2nd. 
• For writing, students have completed their nonfiction animal picture books! Students have become experts on identifying nonfiction text features like maps, illustrations, glossaries, and more. Our next writing unit will be focused on biographies!
• In Social Studies, students have been learning about the Native Americans. Students have learned about the Arctic/Fart North, Southwest, and the Plains Region.
